I feel so fortunate to be working from Meadowlark Yoga - it's full of positive open people and is dedicated to life of health, vitality and balance on every level.  I can't help but smile every time I go in either to work or to a yoga class. Would you like to come along on a wee tour? I'll tell you about the new place and tempt you to visit with two offers along the way. To see my working days and prices please read my page . You can also book online.

Where is it? Meadowlak Healthy for Sport treatment room is at 40 Argyle Place, Marchmont, but the entrance is through the cafe at 39 Argyle Place - make yourself known to one of the friendly folk working at the cafe when you come in they will direct you. It's a nice place to wait for your appointment and relax afterwards. The coffees and teas are very good, just so you know!

How do I get there? The metered on-street parking around Meadowlark can get quite busy, but the good news is that you can park for longer than an hour and free parking starts at 5.30pm. Bus-wise - there's 41 that goes right along Argyle Place, but there are plenty of other buses a short walk away, you can check with Lothian buses.

How do I book? Meadowlark use an online booking system, which can be both very convenient and a bit cumbersome. Here's the link that gets you straight to the booking page, from which you can select Shiatsu Massage. If you ever get lost in the system or simply would prefer to speak to a human call the reception on 0131 2287581 - they will call back if it's busy.

What's the damage? I've kept the prices the same as before, but added a few extra options and an ongoing discount for anyone pregnant/ new parents - see here for all prices.

What's this about offers then? Meadowlark is running a 15% off promotion on all appointments in August to celebrate/help survive the Festival time. I also wanted to do a special thank you offer for all the folk who have been to see me over the years - a 10% off all the block booking prices - just quote shiatsujuly when you book. This offer will be open for any appointment booked and paid for by 20th August. The "block" is valid for a year after the initial appointment.

How do I pay? You are asked to pre-pay for your treatment if you book online, in person or over the phone. There's no facility to pay by cash. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy, so if you change or cancel your appointment you will get your money back, as long as you do it in advance. Any difficulty with getting to the appointment please get in touch and speak to me or reception. I'm on 0768874345.

Anything else that could be useful?  There are plenty of really excellent yoga classes being run here for all levels of abilities, all week, from early till late. I've sampled a few and can certainly recommend a class if you're not sure where to start. There are also other therapies - all listed under MHFS Clinic. The therapists working here are all really experienced, knowledgeable and approachable and I have no trouble recommending them. It's fantastic having all these resources under one roof - makes looking after yourself really enjoyable and easy. Meadowlark also do gift vouchers (select the last option for the treatments)!

What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu translates as ‘finger pressure’ and is based on traditional Japanese massage.  Combining acupressure, massage, flowing movement and joint rotations helps to disperse tension, reduce pain, promote relaxation and healthy functioning of the body systems (circulation, breathing, digestion etc.). Shiatsu  therapists are guided by their experience & knowledge of physiology and traditional Chinese medicine and apply pressure using fingers, thumbs, palms and elbows and combine it with other techniques.
