If you or someone close has been dreading "THAT time of the month" I would like to share a series of Shiatsu sessions targeting PMS (as well as nurturing and relaxing you to better well-being, of course!). The full body treatment, which includes stimulating acupressure points, gentle movement, pressure and stretches aims to improve your vitality. I also use abdominal massage and gentle hip adjustments as part of the treatment - this helps to get the flow of energy to the internal organs and promotes digestion, detoxification as well as relaxation - vital in helping to smooth the monthly hormonal ride. From personal experience, with this kind of work not only did my PMS improved significantly but my motivation and ability to look after my diet, exercise and general vitality. To book or get more information call Maria on 07968874345. Lasting positive change - isn't that worth a bit of commitment?! Invest in 5x 1 hour Shiatsu massage sessions at the price of £120 - a massive saving of £80 on the normal 5x session block. I'm asking all those participating to complete all 5 sessions within a three month period, so that you can build momentum from one session to the next. I will also be asking you to complete a detailed health questionnaire before starting the treatments as well as two feedback questionnaires after after you complete the five sessions. This will help me to build the sessions around you and make give both of us a sense of measure of how much you've improved. I believe that having a diet that supports your health can make the world of difference for your monthly cycles, which is why I recommend speaking to a nutritionist as part of the treatment, preferably before you start with the Shiatsu. My colleague at Meadowlark, nutritionist Wilma MacDonald is offering specially designed consultations to make sure that the food you eat supports you in getting healthier, whatever time of the month. Here's the bit from Wilma: " PMS is a fact of life, right? The mood swings, cramps, cravings and bloatedness. It’s part and parcel of being a woman. What if that wasn’t the case? What if you could get through the month without having to lie down on the bathroom floor, or feeling the need to cry at a long coffee line or empty the local shop of Cadbury’s. PMS is your body talking (shouting, maybe) at you. How you nourish yourself can have a massive impact on how feel at different times in your cycle. Book in for a 30 minute food diary review with Wilma and she’ll give you the guidance to get you started on a happier menstrual cycle (just £35!). " Please note that the 30 minute session with Wilma is only open to those booking the 5 sessions Women's Wellbeing Package with Maria. You can of course book with Wilma for a more in-depth nutritional consultation. Book your Shiatsu Women's Wellbeing Package and Nutrition session by contacting myself on 07968 874345 or getting in touch with Meadowlark Yoga reception on 01312287581.

What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu translates as ‘finger pressure’ and is based on traditional Japanese massage. Combining acupressure, massage, flowing movement and joint rotations helps to disperse tension, reduce pain, promote relaxation and healthy functioning of the body systems (circulation, breathing, digestion etc.). Shiatsu therapists are guided by their experience & knowledge of physiology and traditional Chinese medicine and apply pressure using fingers, thumbs, palms and elbows and combine it with other techniques. |
