Shiatsu neck treatment - EDINBURGH SHIATSU
These testimonials were from our previous incarnation as the Edinburgh Shiatsu Clinic. We provide them here to show what others have said about their experience of Shiatsu.

“I tried Shiatsu after experiencing some pain in my lower back from a sports injury. I can honestly say that even after the first session I felt a noticeable difference.” John, IT specialist

“ I felt floaty and bendy after the treatment which was amazing for me!!!” Karen, housewife

“ The main issue for me is stiff neck & shoulders. It worked better than most other treatments I’ve tried. My neck & shoulders were much looser & less stiff for a long time after. I really enjoyed it. Ultra relaxed.” Aaron, engineer

“ I was very relaxed, felt good within myself [following the treatment]. Really enjoyed the experience, calm comfortable with Dee and have recommended her to friends.” Lynda, self-employed

“Absolutely amazing, I wasn’t sure what to expect and didn’t realise that other areas were causing me pain. By the time the session was over, my body felt like it had melted and pain gone. Totally relaxing and have recommended to my friends.”  Donna, project manager

“[the treatment was] very pleasant and beneficial, calming and therapeutic. I realise I can walk properly, go up stairs correctly and I am not in pain, taking no painkiller tablets… I felt my legs were lighter and I felt great. I felt I was normal again, not “lurching”” Anne, retired

“I was surprised by the overall positive effects as a result of the subtlety of the treatment. I enjoyed the interactive quality from the therapist. Initially I felt elated and light and pain free, unfortunately though a couple of hours following the treatment I suffered a terrible headache like I had never had before and bad pains in my abdomen. The days, weeks and months following the treatment, however, have seen a decrease in the level of pain in my back and neck, which had been my problem. The treatment was excellent.” Clare, Macmillan nurse

“The first time I received the treatment I was surprised how you could benefit from a massage with your clothes on. The massage turned out to be very beneficial as I felt totally relaxed after it and also felt my mind and body were calm. I even fell asleep during the treatment!… I also have tightness in my left shoulder and the treatment eased it.” Doreen, hospital administrator

“Nothing else worked on my shoulders” Jane, Edinburgh

“This was the most relaxed I’ve been in months!”

“My football injury felt lots better after just one treatment” Mike

“I slept like a baby after the amazing massage” Karen

What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu translates as ‘finger pressure’ and is based on traditional Japanese massage.  Combining acupressure, massage, flowing movement and joint rotations helps to disperse tension, reduce pain, promote relaxation and healthy functioning of the body systems (circulation, breathing, digestion etc.). Shiatsu  therapists are guided by their experience & knowledge of physiology and traditional Chinese medicine and apply pressure using fingers, thumbs, palms and elbows and combine it with other techniques.
